Terms of Service

Effective 6 September 2026

inveni is run by its developer, a private individual based in Singapore ("we", "the operator"). By creating an account or using inveni you agree to these terms. Questions: [email protected].

1. What inveni does

inveni follows newly published arXiv preprints and journal papers and recommends a small number to you each day, based on a model learned from your own library and ratings. It also offers AI-written summaries, Zotero sync and a personal library, an AI-assistant connector, and email or Telegram alerts.

2. Access and eligibility

inveni is free of charge. You need a valid email address and must be 16 or older. We may limit sign-ups, and may change, suspend, or withdraw the service or any feature at any time, including during this early-access period.

3. Your account

Keep your password secure and do not share your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Acceptable use

Do not: attempt to breach or probe the service or its infrastructure; scrape or bulk-download content from the service; use automated clients against the service other than through the interfaces we provide (including the AI-assistant connector, within its rate limits); resell or redistribute the service; upload unlawful content; or use inveni to infringe copyright.

5. Papers and their rights holders

The papers inveni recommends belong to their authors and publishers. inveni shows you bibliographic information, abstracts and links to the source, and generates summaries for you from publicly available versions. inveni claims no rights in any paper and grants you none. How you may use a paper is governed by the terms of the source you obtain it from.

If you hold rights in a work and believe something should not appear on inveni, write to [email protected]. We will review it promptly and remove it where appropriate.

6. AI-generated summaries and rankings

Summaries and relevance rankings are produced by automated systems and can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. They are a reading aid, not a substitute for reading the paper. Do not rely on them for research conclusions or for clinical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload: your library, ratings, and notes. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store that content and to compute your recommendations and your personal model.

8. Availability

inveni is an early-stage service provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise uninterrupted operation, and features may change or disappear. Keep your own copy of anything important, for instance by syncing to Zotero.

9. Liability

inveni is provided free and as-is. Recommendations may be wrong or incomplete. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from use of the service, and any liability is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is nothing.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Profile. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from use of the service.

12. Changes

We will update the date above when these terms change, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
